Hi, The most important ntfsprogs utilities have been ported to ntfs-3g, so they can benefit from the regular core ntfs fixes, enhancements, and maintenance.
I'd like to avoid conflict with ntfsprogs, so users could test and decide which one they trust and use. Unfortunately the naming of the utilities isn't easy anymore (I'm the original author of several of them). Any ideas what name convention should we follow? Old names: mkntfs, ntfsresize, ntfsclone, ... Some suggestions: a) ntfs-3g.mkfs, ntfs-3g.resize, ntfs-3g.clone b) ntfs-3g_mkfs, ntfs-3g_resize, ntfs-3g_clone c) ntfs-3g-mkfs, ntfs-3g-resize, ntfs-3g-clone d) mkfs.ntfs-3g, resize.ntfs-3g, clone.ntfs-3g e) mkfs_ntfs-3g, resize_ntfs-3g, clone_ntfs-3g f) mkfs-ntfs-3g, resize-ntfs-3g, clone-ntfs-3g g) ?????? I think all of them is pretty horrific but I would go with choice d) based on the mkfs.<fs>, fsck.<fs> convention on Linux. What do you think? Please reply to the list or privately if you prefer so.
