(Do you mean chkdsk from Linux side or from Windows?)

I ask this, because I want to use a ntfs partition for /home, so I can access 
it from Windows XP.
My /etc/fstab:
/dev/sda5   /home   ntfs   defaults,user,permissions   1   0
Manipulating Linux file permissions works fine from this.

So can I use this configuration to have full benefit of a journalling file 
system?
Do I have to make additional setting or do I have to use ext3/4 ?
