It would be great if the behavior of mount.ntfs-3g in this case would be
the same as for mount(8), i.e. to automatically mount the device as
read-only if mounting read-write fails. See this comment for further

Kai Lüke, the GNOME Disks maintainer, already wrote to this mailing list
about the same issue three weeks ago, but the email doesn't seem to have
arrived. Maybe it's stuck in moderation?
