OMG, it works! I can read and write.
Good news !
It only shows near 15 errors and nothing else.

There is a possibility that they are related to the unused
part of MFTMirr. They will probably disappear if you create
a temporary file in the root directory, then delete it. This
could force MFTMirr to be regenerated.
I'm on Xubuntu 18.04 LTS, and it has only that AR.2
(ntfs-3g/bionic-updates,bionic-security,now 1:2017.3.23-2ubuntu0.18.04.2).
Next question is how to get automount and stuff which works normally
with AR.2 from apt, but with that "manually" installed AR.3 system using
something else but it's unrelated to ntfs-3g offtopic.
I do not use Ubuntu myself, and I cannot answer this.
Or maybe there is some way to get the latest version backported.
So, thanks for the investigation. I'm leaving the drive as it, so if you
need more info, I can provide.
Hope the fixup warnings disappear, but this could be complex
to investigate.

I see nothing wrong in the root index data you posted, and I have been
able to list the root directory (with some hacking related to data I
do not have, such as the MFTMirr).
So I would like to dig into the MFT/MFTMirr mismatch :

A similar issue related to Windows 10 was fixed a year ago,
in ntfs-3g 2017.3.23AR.2 and Ubuntu should have the fix in its latest
ntfs-3g 2017.3.23AR.3, see :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ntfs-3g/1:2017.3.23AR.3-3ubuntu1
Would you please install it ?
Note : this does not address the fixup warnings.
