How can I define something like %%\ N  in TeX prettyprinting:

\def\mathematics#1% %%\ N usage: \type {\mathematics{x^2}} 
\stopTEX

This doesn't work:

\startPON
inst auth+ myauth {  // comment
  target  = /home/users ; %%\ N  \type{...}
\stopPON
