texfont converts to lowercase

Hi,

it seems that texfont tends to convert every input to lowercase,
which sounds like a fatal flaw to me when working in Unix and
having pathnames like /usr/local/TeX/texmf (as suggested by TeXLive)
converted to lowercase.

Or am I missing something here?
