We have \currentgrouplevel and \currentgrouptype. What do you want more? I'm currently having a look at the e-TeX manual. The amount of feedback available, in comparison to TeX, is enormous! For example, it's possible to recover \parindent info, which allows to 'propagate' parshapes to multiple paragraphs. I have to get a deeper look at this. -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta
