Hi,

I had a look at the berry typescript and created a tetex typescript:

type-tetex.tex

%% do not use :) except for experiments

\starttypescript [tetex] [ec]
\definefontsynonym [ec-utmr8a] [ptmr8t]
\definefontsynonym [ec-utmri8a] [ptmri8t]
\definefontsynonym [ec-utmb8a] [ptmb8t]
\definefontsynonym [ec-utmbi8a] [ptmbi8t]
\definefontsynonym [ec-utmr8a-slanted-167] [ptmro8t]
\definefontsynonym [ec-utmb8a-slanted-167] [ptmbo8t]
\stoptypescript

this is my testfile:

\setupencoding[default=ec]
\usetypescriptfile[type-tetex]
\usetypescript[tetex][ec]
\definetypeface[times] [rm][serif][times] [default][encoding=ec]
\starttext
 \switchtobodyfont[times, 10pt] times \showcharacters \par
\stoptext

It switches to times, but the encoding is messed up.
