mp on odd and even

Hello, 
 
In the lay-out of one of my styles I use a MetaPost-graphic. How can I
get this "graphic" placed on odd pages on the right and on even pages on
the left? Is it something like:
 
\ifodd
            ...
\else
            ...
\fi
