You probably hate emails like this but I've just started to try and use context, I've read the minstall.pdf, and started reading a few other pdfs, but I can't get started.
texexec --verbose --make en
produces...
/usr/bin/fmtutil --byfmt cont-en
fmtutil: no info for format `cont-en'.
TeX binary : pdfetex format(s) : en
Where can I go for a little help to get it running? I'm sure its just some small glitch.

in your case, i think that you need to run fmtutil --edit and uncomment the context lines,
as an alternative, you can try texexec --make --alone
