I believe it is possible that this code

> mkdir $FormatPath ;

breaks in perl versions < 5.8.0 because of the trailing slash in the mkdir call.
It would be great if someone could verify if
mkdir "test/" ;
actually fails in 5.004/5.005/5.6.x (perl58delta seems to hint at that).
If so, then probably changing the second line to read:
$FormatPath .= $EnginePath ;
will fix the bug.
