It's a straight opentype encapsulation of the CMR type1 fonts from CTAN,
as far as I can tell. 

Getting LM in there is a function of $x$ Jonathan Kew's time, $y$ when
the next XeTeX release is, and $z$ the stability of LM's current release.

I'll try to measure $z$ with Jacko later today...
