With Debian, I created a /bin/mudraw
$ cat /bin/mudraw
#!/bin/sh
mutool draw "$@"
trying to compile the demo file:
context epub-mkiv-demo.tex
mtxrun --script epub --images epub-mkiv-demo.tex
mtxrun --script epub --make epub-mkiv-demo
the demo stopped just after by trying to open the file with Calibre 's epub
reader :
calibre, version 7.24.0
ERREUR : Error in message handler: Erreur inconnue

TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'tag_map')
