Hi Hans,
\pi doesn't seem to be defined in MkIV anymore. I'm using the latest
from the standalone distribution, although the issue is also present in
the TL25 pretest. Minimal example:
% engine=luatex
\startTEXpage
\m{\pi}
\stopTEXpage
