Hi Hans,

If you use "\show" anywhere in a document with MkIV, ConTeXt treats it
as a fatal error and immediately exits. The following document produces
the expected output with MkXL, but exits with "mtx-context | fatal
error" with MkIV:

\disabledirectives[system.quitonerror]

     \show\show
     \showtokens{\showtokens}

     \starttext
         Hello, world!
     \stoptext

lmtx is a bit more granular indeed and carries on but doing that in mkiv would demand more code and be unreliable anyway; it's not like many users use \show and then go on anyway

Hans
