Thank you very much for this information.
Indeed, this source file should normally work, since it is coded on the
same basis (in terms of the bibliography) as other files that have
worked and are still working. So I'm not surprised to see that this file
is functional. What surprises me is that it doesn't work on my machine
(Windows 11). Maybe I should compile it on a Linux system? Clearly
there's some kind of bug. But what is it?

If your MWE fails for you then there is obviously a problem somewhere else but
