Dear Wolfgang,

Thank you for your clear explanation.
It will help me to figure out how to locate the connecting points.
It may not be easy for me, but I’ll try.

\useMPlibrary[logicsymbols]

\startMPpage[offset=.25ex]

u := BodyFontSize ;

drawoptions(withpen pencircle scaled 1) ;

draw (0, .25u) -- (u, .25u) withcolor "red" ;
draw (0,-.25u) -- (u,-.25u) withcolor "green" ;

draw textext("\lNAND") xysized (2u,u) shifted (2u,0) withcolor "orange" ;

draw (3u,0) -- (4u,0) withcolor "blue" ;

\stopMPpage

In that case, I may try another way.
Drawing logic gates by borrowing the  Hans’ code and using them as pictures not fonts in the MetaFun.
I am not sure that it is a better way.

This seems to be the better way to include the gates in the graphic.

Wolfgang
