Thanks. I was trying to find something between "not enough" and "too
much". A Goldilocks problem, I suppose.

That is disturbing news. Between "\startplace" and the \startplaceformula
wiki entry (which says it floats) I thought it did, without testing it.
I'll rewrite that section a bit, (and then fall on my sword :-).
