I think llap needs a similar ifcase.

It seems the position the character when outside a frame is now too close
to the start of the paragraph. Again, that's when the location is set to
left or defaults to left, like in the snippet below.

But then, the following snippet places the character at the expected
location again.

I'm not sure why the \lefttoright part is needed in this snippet, but it
makes it work.
