Good day! Hm, I realize, that I was more than absent in recent weeks and kind of blind although I was handling mor than a hundred glass panes giving them new kit-seams... The use of \paperbleed and \spinewidth work fine and ar a nice features when designing a book cover. Normally I used a layer to move things around for this purpose, but the approach with Metafun is leaner. May be that the \paperbleed could be integrated into \setuplayout? \spinewidth might be more tricky to assign to an existing command. I played with your examples, changing parameters and watching the results. I could not makeup, what the cropoffset, trimoffset and bleedoffset keys do. May be I am ignorant but they do not seem to have any visible effect using ConTeXt version : 2026.07.06 13:29. Waht is discussed in this thread is a nice chapter to the envisaged updated version of "Layouyt in ConTeXt".
