I just tried my book: zint module seems to work again, but Aditya’s vim
module (based on his filter module) doesn’t work any more.
I’ll try to come up with a MWE later.
A subset of my book (only 1 chapter) fails due to missing references –
no wonder since the rest is missing, but I’d like to get a PDF anyway:

references > 2 [c_intro][sec:serienbriefe]
references > 2 [c_intro][sec:xmlprocessing]
references > stop missing references
error logging > error marked as fatal
mtx-context | fatal error: return code: 1
Which setting should I change?
