As far as I could ascertain the compiling problems on MAcOSX 10.5.x (Leopard) go away when in the CFLAGS is included an architecture parameter, e.g. -arch ppc -arch i386 or more specific mcpu=G5 etc. It seems otherwise the correct ANSI_C header files are not found by the gcc compiler.
