there are two \setupalign commands in the source and both are written in macros to place the descripton text (but did not work), how about 'headalign' then, it's
mentioned in the following example from the source

anyhow, i thought that the alignment had to do with:

2
10

and

1
2
3

i.e. less width in the case of < 10 which can be done using first/ last on page numbers

what do you mean?
