sysctl -n hw.cpu64bit_capable
returns you 1 then it's quite possible that you are still using the
old version of first-setup.sh.

Sorry, I was misinterpreting the "pdfTeX 1.40" string and though it
was reading "LuaTeX beta-0.40".
