So, should I add two !! infront of $TEXMFHOME in $TEXMF (and $OSFFONTDIR
in $OPENTYPEFONTS) to ensure that $TEXMFHOME and $OSFFONTDIR are scanned
for names?
indeed, !! will force scanning
another option is to add $TEXMFHOME/fonts to OSFONTDIR
