I understand that they have to be a separate stream. Of course, I didn’t mean a partial alignment should be inherited in the notes. I meant the alignment properties for the whole document. I don’t know whether it would make sense to add a key/value pair to \setupalign, such as "notes=inherit". My question is more an open one than a feature request. I don’t know whether it might be useful (because there is a lot about text streams in ConTeXt that I simply don’t know).
