I found this code in ConTeXt (syst-aux.mkiv):

    \starttext
    \doloopoverlist {red,green,blue} {
         \setuppalet[\recursestring]
         \doloopoverlist {light,normal,dark} {
             \blackrule[color=\recursestring, width=\textwidth]\par
         }
     }
    \stoptext

Is it intended that all nine lines are black?
