I found the culprit --the changes in syst-ext; restoring the
previous one seems to solve everything.

i just found out while generating a test doc with utf comments (pdf notes);

uploading a new beta now;

this one is also prepared for utf notes, bookmarks will come later (the adobe unicode fonts that come with acrobat are not complete
