ispell is the default in my emacs and it has a tex mode which works well
with Context. That is, it skips macros and such.

I've used pdftotext to extract text from pdf and run through a spell
checker. Problems: the output text retains hyphenated line endings, and
includes special typographical characters which the spell checker
doesn't understand.
