I am trying to compile snort 2.9.0.4 with PF_ring 4.6.5 support. There were errors while compiling and installing. But when I started snort, I got the error message below. Wrong RING version: kernel is 12, libpfring was compiled with 13 During installation first I compile daq-0.5 library in ~/PF_RING-4.6.5/userland/snort directory and I compiled snort with the command ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/snort-2.9.0.4 - --enable-decoder-preprocessor-rules --enable-ipv6 LIBS="-lpthread" - --with-libpfring-includes=/usr/local/include/ - --with-libpfring-libraries=/usr/local/lib/ and I am running the snort with /usr/local/snort-2.9.0.4/bin/snort --daq pfring -D -i eth0 -l /var/log/snort/ -c /usr/local/snort-2.9.0.4/etc/snort.conf -Np. The OS is Debian Squeeze and kernel version is 2.6.37.2 custom compiled and nprobe works without any problem with pfring support now. What may be the problem?
