I did find a work around, as explained below.  I wasn't very worried
about the fingerprinting, I was simply trying to get the thing to
compile and install, as I'm only semi proficient at Linux programming.
 It was easier for me to figure out the dependency than trying to edit
code I wasn't 100% sure I could remove without issue.
