Hi Luca,

I have done some more analysis on this problem with the latest svn release and
this is what I have
found:

I have a subnet 10.0.128.0/17.

I have computer A at 10.0.129.91, computer B at 10.0.133.88 (running ntopng),
computer C at 10.0.133.87
and computer D at 10.0.133.177. They are connected together via GigaBit
ethernet on a lan with other devices.

I start a listener nc process on 10.0.133.88 as follows:
nc -kl 5555 >/dev/null 2>&1

If start a sender process on either computer C or computer D using
nc 10.0.133.88 5555 </dev/zero

Then on the Top Flow Talkers window whole graph is
10.0.133.87 - 10.0.133.88 or
10.0.133.177 - 10.0.133.88

depending on which one I am sending from - This is exactly what I would expect.

But is I send from 10.0.129.91, even though my thruput is still at 600+mbs, I
get
various units showing up on the Top Flow Talkers graph, and maybe periodically
I will see 10.0.129.91 - 10.0.133.88 even though on the host list screen they
show up as the top two.

Is there something that is looking at peers that is only considering a /24
prefix?

Regards,
Steve

Hi Luca,

Either I don't understand what the Top Flow Talkers graph means on the
Dashboard or
something is broken.

I have on the box I am running ntopng running (10.0.133.88)
nc -kl 5555 >/dev/null 2>&1

on another box (10.0.129.91) I have
nc 10.0.133.88 5555 </dev/zero

In the bandwidth meter I see about 680 mbs being shown but
I seldom see the top flow talkers graph show

10.0.129.91 - 10.0.133.88.

I would expect this to be a wide band and showing up all the time.

Am I wrong in my understanding.

If I go to the host list I see the two above IPs showing as the first two in
the list.
