Hi all,
some of you are discussing about replacing the ntop HTTP server with
Apache. In order to contribute to the discussion i would like to remark
that ntop 2.1 and above uses one thread for handling HTTp requests.
However ntop forks (obviously not on Win32) a copy for handling each
http request similar to what HTTP servers do. So the "clicking fast
syndrome" is not due because of a lack of multiple HTTP handling. If
there should be a bug somewhere it needs to be tracked.

Replacing the embedded http server for Apache just because of a bug it's
not very wise. However it does make sense if this enables new solutions
to the problem of network monitoring.

Regards, Luca
