I am Alexander Economou, a humble systems administrator and i must admit that ntop has solved alot of my problems. Thus i have a small problem. After a couple of days that i start ntop, the log/db dir that rrdtool saves the cisco netflow graphs/data (/usr/share/ntop/rrd/interfaces/NetFlow-device/hosts/) has 32000 directories in it.You will ask me "so what?"
Well the problem is that whenever it reaches 32000 directories it can't create any more directories inside so i have to delete everything in order for ntop to start working properly and not flood my log file with the following messages
May 21 10:44:05 pythia ntop[18670]: **WARNING** RRD: rrd_create(/usr/share/ntop//rrd/interfaces/NetFlow-device/hosts/210.123.83.18/udpSentLoc.rrd) error: creating '/usr/share/ntop//rrd/interfaces/NetFlow-device/hosts/210.123.83.18/udpSentLoc.rrd': No such file or directory
May 21 10:44:05 pythia ntop[18670]: **WARNING** RRD: rrd_update(/usr/share/ntop//rrd/interfaces/NetFlow-device/hosts/210.123.83.18/udpSentLoc.rrd) error: opening '/usr/share/ntop//rrd/interfaces/NetFlow-device/hosts/210.123.83.18/udpSentLoc.rrd': No
such file or directory
I hope you can point out a solution to me
Best Regards Alexander Economou
PS
the hosts directory is a symlink to another harddisk because of the large amount of data and the small capacity of hda _______________________________________________
