SIGBUS is an unaligned move problem, unique to specific hardware (most just
slow down, but a few chips die).

You need to capture the information about the failure - you've given no
useful diagnostic info. See the instructions for running under gdb in
docs/FAQ - make SURE to grab the bt full, info stack and as much printing of
variables as seems prudent.

Subject: [Ntop-dev] SIGBUS and Daemon Errors in FreeBSD

Howdy all!

I've recently compiled and installed ntop 3.0 via the ports tree on a
FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE system. I've experienced two problems with it though.
I click the 'Summary' link followed by the 'Traffic' link, and the
program SIGBUSes with no output error messages or anything. The second
problem that I have is when I execute:

ntop -w 3000 -K -g -d

or any variant to that including the webserver, the daemon appears to
run, but I can't connect to the web-interaface. Telnet to the port
responds but I cannot execute commands. Anyone have any ideas?

Okay, here's the more in-depth detail. The error message seen from the command line is:

    zsh: 46047 bus error ntop -w 3000 -a /var/log/ntop-access-log -K -g

From inside GDB, I get the following when the program crashes:

######BEGIN######

Program received signal SIGBUS, Bus error.
    0x280973f7 in printTrafficStatistics (revertOrder=0) at report.c:268
268 report.c: No such file or directory

######END#######

And finally, when I run BT, I get the following:

######BEGIN########
