A backtrace of the core dump would be useful, although the lack of symbols (I assume the SunFreeware version is stripped) and source would make it rather useless. At least you have installed all the tools necessary to *build* the latest CVS. Sorry to be a pain but we can't really help with support for a binary built by a third party As far as debugging the binary is concerned, run it with the -t option.
