Subject: [Ntop-dev] Error encountered in starting ntop 3.1

Hi,

I downloaded ntop3.1 and launched it using this at the command prompt:
ntop @/etc/ntop.conf
where my ntop.conf is same as ntop.conf.sample ( I did not make any changes)

When I start ntop from service configuration dailog window I get "ntop start
successful" but status gives me ..."ntop dead but subsys locked"

I tried this later and it gave me....

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# ntop -i eth0
Mon Mar 21 09:10:57 2005 Initializing gdbm databases Mon Mar 21 09:10:57
2005 **FATAL_ERROR** ....open of /var/ntop/prefsCache.db failed: File open
error Mon Mar 21 09:10:57 2005 Possible solution: please use '-P
