Updates to bring RedHat package version up to date.
(this is the script used in the RedHat and Fedora RPMs posted at SourceForge)
1. Multiple instance stuff (logging, ld path, etc.)
2. Prevent fixed temp file name
3. Cleanse parameters for security reasons when processing them
