Hi guys,

I'm playing with ntop on FreeBSD 7.0-RC1 and I'm running into the
"infinite hang" problem with the web server. I read the FAQ and
developer mailing list archive, and the --pcap_nonblock referenced in
the man page doesn't seem to exist, and the --set-pcap-nonblocking
referenced in the list (not man page) doesn't either; ntop errors out in
either case. Those aren't compiler switches, are they?

I've ran ntop using libmap.conf to map libthr to libkse, and the problem
is worse. I can load the site initially after launchign ntop, reload it
once (maybe 10 seconds after), then a subsequent reload another 10
seconds later hangs. Doh!

I'm running it now using libmap to map thr to pthread, and it's running
with high CPU usage, as described in the mailing list. After a few
minutes it freezes also, no CPU usage listed, no web page. This error is
logged (which I saw initially, using the default libthr):

Jan 29 16:31:01 monitor ntop[1963]: **ERROR** releaseMutex() failed
(rc=1) [t686826240 m0x2817eadc, @util.c:2279]

I'm not a developer, so, not really sure what that means. Anything else
I should try?

J
