I am currently experiencing high CPU usage as well. I have a brand new box; with Debian 6, PF_RING Version 4.6.3 ($Revision: 4539$), and an Intel
ET2 NIC (igb driver). With the card configured to use 1 queue, pfcount_multichannel processor utilization is 100%. With the card configured to use 2 queues, utilization is 200%, with 8, 800%. The number of RX packets also does not change utilization, 100Kpps and up to 550Kpps produces the same CPU utilization, with 0 packets dropped. Nicholas Gaugler
