Summary of Aberrant Behavior Detection Algorithm

 

Aberrant behavior detection is decomposed into three pieces, each building
on its predecessor:

(1)   An algorithm for predicting the values of a time series one time step
into the future.  - Lower

(2)   A measure of deviation between the predicted values and the observed
values.  - Upper

(3)   A mechanism to decide if and when an observed value or sequence of
observed values is 'too deviant' from the predicted value(s).  - Anomalia

Hey there,

can someone actually explain what those "upper" and "lower" values
finally are. I tried to search the net, to no avail.
Just look at those strange "oscillations" of the "upper" value after a
backup run:
