Hi Gary thanks for your answer and sorry for my english. I try to explain what
I mean.

I defined network: 10.1.0.0./24

But I need to define also the community:

Community .All_Local: 10.1.0.0./24

Community.Marketing: 10.1.0.0/28
Community.Execs: 10.1.0.16/28
Community.Servers: 10.1.0.240/28

I defined the network also in the community to have the possibility to have
community report also for all network and all subnet of this network.

But ntop seems to keep in consideration only the network definition. Eg: if
host 10.1.0.1 make some traffic, I saw that his traffic is counted under
Network, but not in the corresponding community (in my example in all_local and
Marketing).

I saw that If I cancel network definition, community traffic count is ok, but,
in this way, I can’t define local->local, remote->local and local->remote
traffic.

More, I need to have rrd network graphs (with in and out bandwith usage) and
community report (top talker).

What I am missing ?

Hi,

I don't understand your question(s) that well. Generally speaking I would not
think one should define a community with the same specifics as a network. A
community is typically a subset of the network such as:

Network: 10.1.0.0/24
Community.Marketing: 10.1.0.0/28
Community.Execs: 10.1.0.16/28
Community.Servers: 10.1.0.240/28

Etc.

Also, I THINK community is now "cluster"? I forget which one replaced the other
when 4.x came along.

I have also noticed my community/cluster defs disappear, but I am not on the
most recent release.

Hi List.

Is it working the mailing list ? It is really strange but I don’t receive reply
messages anymore.

Thanks

Gio

Hi all.

How to track traffic either in network and communities ?

Eg: i have a know subnet as 10.1.1.0/24 and community all_network = 10.1.1.0/24

It seems that traffic is tracked only in network and not in community. What I
am wrong ?

I also noticed that sometime some communities disappear !

Last question: what should track the traffic with communities with one that
include other one ?

Eg: community.all_network = 10.1.1.0/24

                Community.server = 10.1.1.0/25

                Community.client = 10.1.1.128/25

Traffick should be consider 3 times ?
