I’m running the latest nightly build on ntopng on two machines - a quad core Atom and a quad core I7 VM, both running Intel NIC cards. I can saturate my gig network here in my lab no problem during transfer tests. I’m using a Qualcomm “Easy Tap” to replicate my switch’s port mirror to multiple systems.
It is very obvious during transfer tests that the Atom box will not log traffic greater than about 600 mb/sec, while the i7 VM goes to a gig/sec. That is somewhat expected, but is there anywhere in the ntopng log environment that would show that a serious percentage of packets are being dropped? I know that the libpcap library exposes this via the pcap_stats() call, is this exposed or logged anywhere in ntopng? Many thanks in advance for any and all helpful replies.
