Ntop not showing data is usually due to a broken libpcap(library that ntop 
uses). If you're using RedHat, particularly 7.0(i think) the libpcap rpm is 
broken. Best solution is just to get a newer ntop(and of course a newer 
libpcap-preferably from source) There's a link to 1.3.2 on the webpage, but 
the most recent can be downloaded via cvs. You can get the cvs package as an 
rpm(if your system supports rpm's), and then follow the directions on the web 
page, on how to download the source.
