Jonah,

-e is the MAXIMUM, ie if you set -e 50 and the table contains 300
 entries, you will see only the top 50.

It cannot be the minimum, because if you set -e 50 and the table has
only 4 entries, it will not be possible to display "at least" 50
lines.
