YES, YES
The version ntop-beta-2105.tgz was succesful compiled on Solaris 8 Intel
( now trying on Solaris 8 Sparc) and
I did not have the errors indicated below anymore ...... GREAT.
1) But there is something wrong with : make install.
If I run ntop from the directory where I compiled it, it starts ok the
plugin (from
./plugins ) :
23/May/2001:16:25:43 Welcome to Pep (Perl embedded Plugin) (c) 2000 R.
Carbone <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
If I start it from anywhere ( /usr/local/bin in PATH) it gives error :
23/May/2001:16:21:35 WARNING: unable to load
plugin'/usr/local/lib/ntop/plugins/libpep.so'
[ld.so.1: ./ntop: fatal: relocation error: file
/usr/local/lib/ntop/plugins/libpep.so: symbol perl_destruct: referenced
symbol not found]
2) INTOP is still not working yet it nerver did ,
after starting INTOP
message : Initializing ntop engine... Please wait
it gives : Segmentation Fault - core dumped.

Subject: [Ntop] NTOP on Solaris 8
Am I the only one who uses NTOP on Solaris 8 Intel and Sparc ?
Who else does ?
I got only the cvs version 01-04-30 compiled and running but without plugins
( ./configure --disable-plugins ).
My problems with make :
With ntop cvs until 01-04-30 inclusive I got error during ntop make :
*** No rule to make target `remoteInterface.c', needed by
> `remoteInterface.lo'. Stop.
Workaround : ./configure --disable-plugins
>From ntop cvs version 01-05-01 I get an error in an earlier stage
as above during ntop make :
cd . \
&& CONFIG_FILES=Makefile CONFIG_HEADERS= /bin/sh ./config.status
creating Makefile
Makefile:472: *** missing separator. Stop.
what could be wrong , or what am I doing wrong ?
Jac
