After upgrading to redhat 7.1 (which included ntop 1.3.2) I couldn't get
ntop to report any traffic. I noticed messages on other mailing lists saying
to recompile tcpdump and libpcap to newest versions but this didn't work
either.

Then I noticed an obscure posting saying to start ntop with the option "not
port 65432" which appears to work fine. I note that this port is often times
associated with a trojan horse and I'm very curious why I need to use this
option to start up ntop.

Also, I don't see to be able to start more than one version of ntop so I can
monitor more than one interface. I type the command "ntop -i eth0 -w 3010 -d
not port 65432" and no errors come back but the program doesn't start and
only one copy of ntop shows up with the ps commaind. I've tried lots of port
numbers because 3000 is being used by the first instance but no luck.

Ideas?

Thanks.
