The current version is 2.0pre or, better, the snapshot 01-11-27, not 1.3a0. Anyway, this was discussed here several times. Please read the emails of at least the last week before posting something here. It can for example be resolved by downgrading automake or simply editing your Makefile: add "2.0" after every occurence of "-release" and "0:0:0" after "-version-info".
