I
submitted the same question this week regarding gre (protocol 47.) I had found
that I could tell ntop to only watch the gre traffic via lipcap filters
like:
ntop
ip proto 47
this
results in ntop only seeing and counting the gre packets, so I knew that the
packets were being seen, but since ntop does not understand these different IP
protocols, it throws the statistics into 'Other TCP/IP'.
It's
not the answer you wanted, but I hope this helps.
BTW -
thanks to Burton for providing this answer to me earlier in the
week.

Subject: [Ntop] ntop 2.0 and Protocol 50Does anyone know if it's possible to have ntop recognize protocol 50, I have many VPN connections within the segment I am monitoring with ntop, the traffic shows up as non-IP. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
