Sorry to drop in.... but after i've read your mail i was a bit conserned about 
the logfile and the -u option:

If i take a look at the logfiles, they are all owned (created the first time i 
ran ntop) by root.root (rw) and others have read permissions.

So how is ntop storing information in them, while it is running with the 
nobody user for instance? Does it store the information while shutting down 
with root priviliges, or what ? (asuming -S 1 command line switch of 
course :) )

Sorry... in advance if i'am just to plain stupid, to don't see how it works :)
